Serving Groton, CT

The outgoing 2021 Honda Civic offered plenty for drivers to appreciate, and the 2022 Civic raises the bar. For 2022, the Civic is a next-generation version. While it has some of the same features that the 2021 version had, it also has an extensive range of updates that you will love. What are the significant differences between the 2021 Honda Civic and the 2022 version?

Performance

For 2022, the Civic LX and Sport trim levels will have the same 158-horsepower, 2.0-liter engine. However, it adds an auto start-stop feature. If you choose the 2022 Civic EX or Touring trim levels; your car will have a fine-tuned 1.5-liter turbo engine. The subtle changes raise the horsepower and torque figures slightly. While these are modest improvements, they can elevate your overall experience on the road.

Appearance

Both the interior and exterior styles of the Honda Civic have been revamped for the next-generation version. It retains its sporty edge with its lower-side accents and rocker panels. However, it also has a more refined look with smoother curves through the hood and profile. The 2022 Civic’s improvements extend to the grille and headlights. The grille is designed with stacked, horizontal elements. The headlights have a strong LED light bar combined with two brilliant bulbs of light. The rear lights have the same LED light bar. Select trims for 2022 have 18-inch wheels, a spoiler, and upgraded exhaust finishers. The 2022 Civic’s cabin has a linear, modern design with an innovative row of air vents and joystick-like knobs for added distinction.

Features

Inside the restyled cabin, you will find a reinvigorated touch display screen with a modern interface along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Touring trim level adds a Bose sound system with 12 speakers, a wireless charging station, and a larger display screen. All of the Honda Sensing features from the 2021 Civic are available in the 2022 version, but features like blind-spot monitoring and a few others have been revamped for improved functionality. For 2022, the Touring trim level now has parking sensors that automatically engage if the front or rear ends are tapped.
