Serving Groton, CT

The CR-V is a small crossover SUV that has been an integral part of Honda’s lineup for years. While it was originally introduced with only gas powertrains, a CR-V Hybrid has been available for a few years. At Cardinal Honda, our customers often inquire about the CR-V and the CR-V Hybrid differences. After learning more about their similarities and differences, you can compare your choices in greater detail through a test drive.

Performance

The primary difference between the 2022 Honda CR-V and the 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid is behind the wheel. The gas-powered CR-V is outfitted with a turbocharged four-cylinder, 190-horsepower engine. It comes with a standard front-wheel drive across most trim levels, and all-wheel drive is standard in the top trim level. The 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid, on the other hand, has a hybrid 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 212 net horsepower. All three of the CR-V Hybrid’s engines are paired with an all-wheel drive drivetrain. Both models have a continuously variable transmission.

Appearance

There are only subtle exterior design differences between the CR-V and the CR-V Hybrid. Both models have a confident yet edgy look with subtle curvature through their profiles. They have a hexagonal grille with linear accent bars. At the top of their grilles, the chrome element trends into an LED light bar in the sharp headlights. The sides show off smooth definition on the haunches and a twisting accent bar in the lower portion of the panels. The gas-powered CR-V has a pair of rounded fog lights. The CR-V Hybrid’s fog lights have a linear layout.

Features

The 2022 CR-V and the CR-V Hybrid equipment is comparable on a trim-by-trim basis. You can expect both models to deliver equipment like a dual-zone auto climate control system, multiple USB ports, keyless entry, a hands-free ignition, a sunroof, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, a lane-keeping system, and a host of additional features. Specific features, however, are trim-dependent.
