2020 Honda Civic vs 2019 Honda Civic

Serving Groton, CT

For years, the Honda Civic has remained one of the most popular compact cars on the market. Drivers have grown to love its great blend of performance and efficiency. Class-leading safety scores make the new Civic even more rewarding. Let's see how the 2020 Honda Civic compares to the 2019 Honda Civic.

For 2020, the Honda Civic base powertrain remains the same. Under the hood rests a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. Honda rates it to develop a competitive 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. An available 1.5-liter, the turbocharged four-cylinder engine further elevates performance. It pushes out an enjoyable 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. If you desire more driving excitement, step up to the legendary Civic Si. While the Civic Si uses a similar turbocharged engine, unique tuning increases output to 205 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. This year, revised transmission gearing helps take the Civic Si's performance to the next level. Unlike in 2019, the luxurious Sport Touring model can now be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.

The 2019 Honda Civic was already among the best-looking cars in the segment. However, Honda has updated the hatchback model's exterior styling. A revised front fascia with blacked-out headlights gives the new Civic hatchback an extra coolness factor. New wheel designs have arrived as well. If you desire a racier look, check out the Civic Sport. It features bold design cues like a center-exit exhaust and a decklid spoiler. Meanwhile, updated front and rear bumpers are found on the high-performance Civic Si. Some of the head-turning paint options include Tonic Yellow Pearl, Rallye Red, and Platinum White Pearl.

The same great functions return for 2020. Honda's Display Audio infotainment system is a popular upgrade. It features an available 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone support. Every new Civic receives Honda Sensing®. This advanced safety system provides several helpful driver-assist technologies, including Collision Mitigation Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow. A 10-speaker premium sound system is available for serious music fans.
