2020 Honda HR-V vs 2020 Honda CR-V

Serving Groton, CT

Are you debating between driving home in a 2020 Honda HR-V or a CR-V? The HR-V is the entry-level vehicle in today's Honda line, and it is a subcompact crossover SUV that has a spirited façade. The CR-V sits one notch above the HR-V, and it is a compact crossover SUV. This is only the beginning of their differences. Our associates at Cardinal Honda will happily support you as you explore the possibilities and decide which of these models is an excellent option for you.

Performance

Both of these smaller crossover SUVs deliver spunky, responsive performance behind the wheel. Under the HR-V's hood, you will find an I4 gas engine that produces 141 horsepower across all trims. This powertrain is linked to a CVT with a sport mode, and the top three trims also have dual-mode paddle shifters. If you prefer to drive the CR-V, you can choose between a hybrid engine and a gas powertrain. Standard equipment is a 1.5-liter turbo engine. This engine is linked to a CVT with a sport driving mode, and it will impress you with 190 horsepower.

Appearance

These are both two-row SUVs with small statures, but the HR-V is the smaller model. The 2020 Honda HR-V shows off curves from front to rear. This begins with a rounded nose and an angled hood on the front end. It continues with beautiful curvature over the roof and a sharp definition with stunning undulation down the side doors. At the rear, the window angles outward to create a curve down the liftgate. The CR-V, on the other hand, has an extended hood that is slightly flatter than the HR-V's hood. The roof has a beautiful angle toward the rear rather than curvature. The sides have defined scoops without crisp lines. The rear windshield has a modest edge, and this creates a sporty protrusion at the rear. Both of these vehicles may come with powered side mirrors, remote entry, LED headlights, a roof spoiler, a power liftgate, and other exterior gear.

Features

At the lower trim levels, the HR-V carries essential equipment like cloth seats with manual seat adjustments and a standard sound system. You will find many of the same features that are included or available in the 2020 Honda CR-V when you step up to the higher HR-V trim levels. These include power seats, a navigation system, HondaLink® 1, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free tech, and more.
