2020 Honda Civic vs 2020 Kia Forte

Serving Groton, CT

The Honda Civic has been a reliable option for compact car shoppers for decades. While the Kia Forte does not have the long history that the Civic has, it may also be a leading option for your next purchase. The 2020 Forte is only available with a sedan body style, and the 2020 Civic is offered in a sedan format and a hatchback format. What other differences will you discover when you compare these compact car models in full detail?

You expect your new car to deliver excitement while inspiring confidence as you travel through town. The Honda Civic lives up to this expectation through its two available powertrains. The first engine available in lower Civic trims is an I-4 gas engine with a 158-horsepower capability. It is available with a manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. A turbocharged I-4 variant is also available for the higher Civic trims. The Forte’s base engine is also an I-4 with either a manual or continuously variable transmission, and it gives you 147 horsepower. The 2020 Kia Forte is also offered with a turbo powertrain variant.

Visually, the 2020 Civic sedan has a streamlined look with an aerodynamic descent down the back window toward the rear. For both the Civic sedan and hatchback body styles, the Civic has extensive appeal with modern, angled headlights integrated with the grille and smooth angles across the side contours. The Kia Forte, on the other hand, has a more traditional profile for a sedan. This profile shows off a bubble top with a steep angle on the rear windshield and a defined trunk lid. The 2020 Forte also has deep, angled contours on the side doors.

Both the Civic and the Forte are outfitted with the desired features that today’s drivers want, but these features vary. For example, the Civic has heated front and rear seats, Honda Sensing® assistive technologies, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a premium sound system, a multi-angle rear camera, and more. The 2020 Forte comes with smart device integration, a sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, heated front seats, and a few other items.
