The Honda HR-V, a subcompact crossover known for its spacious interior, joined the Honda lineup during the 2016 model year and it's about to go through its first mid-cycle refresh. Soon, 2019 Honda HR-V models will be available at Cardinal Honda and we're excited for the updates that give the model more technology, safety features, and a premium edge in a segment that's wildly competitive.
Technology
The 2016-2018MY HR-V's had an available touchscreen that used the HondaLink™ infotainment system. Starting in 2019, drivers of select trims can choose to use the Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smart phone integrations that display familiar icons onto the touchscreen. This helps to lessen the learning curve of using a touchscreen and is a feature that many tech-savvy drivers want. The navigation system on the Touring trim will also display sharper images.
Safety
A standard backup camera and the Honda LaneWatch™ camera that was on all models except the base was what previous Honda HR-V's had in the way of crash avoidance safety technology. Those who want to stay on the cutting edge will be pleased to know that Honda Sensing® will be available on most trims. With Honda Sensing® you'll get the following features:
- Lane Departure Warning
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Road Departure Mitigation
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Collision Braking System
- Forward Collision Warning
The top trim will also have LED lights, so you'll get better visibility which is ideal if you do a lot of nighttime driving!
Looks
The 2019 Honda HR-V will have a new grille, more aggressive stance, and three additional color options. The Sport trim will rock a notably different look that the brand describes as "youthful." Honda has also brought back the dial for volume!
