 What's New for the 2023 Honda CR-V?

The Honda CR-V has been the rugged, well-appointed crossover SUV that drivers in Groton and beyond have been drawn to for years. In 2023, the impressive CR-V breaks into new territory with the debut of its sixth generation. With this generational advancement, the CR-V introduces numerous exciting updates that you will undoubtedly love.

One of the most notable improvements is to the powertrain systems. The hybrid-electric system that was previously available is now more powerful than ever. It is a two-engine system that offers an all-wheel-drive driving experience, and it produces 247 pound-feet of torque with 204 horsepower. The EX and EX-L trims have an updated 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 190 horsepower. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission. In addition, hill descent control and a Snow driving mode are new for 2023. The all-wheel-drive system with an Intelligent Control System has also been updated.

The exterior design of the Honda CR-V has been beautified to perfection. The updated CR-V has a lower beltline than its predecessor. The entire front end has been redesigned as well, and it shows off a longer nose, a reshaped bumper, a fresh grille design, and aggressive, LED-topped headlights. For the 2023 model year, the CR-V is both longer and wider than the 2022 version. The interior design has also been refreshed. It introduces more high-quality materials and a sportier, modernized design throughout the cabin.

Several new safety features have been added to the 2023 CR-V as well. In addition to next-generation front airbags, there are now standard rear passenger side-impact and knee airbags. Plus, the Honda Sensing® technologies now include traffic sign recognition, low-speed braking control, traffic jam assist, and a wide-view camera with radar tech.

Some of the carryover features in select or all trims include a 7-inch digital instrument panel, an 8-inch or 9-inch touch display screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB ports, a Bose sound system, wireless smartphone charging, a navigation system, and more.
