Fairview Needs New Servers

Cardinal Foundation Helps To "Serve" It Up!

GROTON - The Cardinal Foundation has donated to Fairview Odd Fellows Home of Groton, Ct to assist in their purchase of a new server with multiple processors.
Pictured belo
w are David Brown, Director of Development at Fairview and Elvis Torres, Corporate Liaison at Cardinal Honda for the Fairview Odd Fellows Home Development Committee. David Brown commented, " We currently have fours servers. They are old and are past warranty. On the advice of our computer specialists we would like to purchase one large server with multiple processors, redundant power supplies, and many disks, would provide a stable hardware platform to which we could migrate our current servers. One large server would also create less noise, create less heat output, and consume less electricity. It would be greener."
The Cardinal Foundation moved swiftly to approve this request because the efficient operation of a computer system has a direct bearing on the care the residents recei
ve. The EMR system has made charting more efficient and this translates into more time spent with each resident.
